Does anyone have a list of books and movies that contain scenes of female haircutting or headshaving? (Particularly forced or punishment haircuts.) I have included those which people sent to me - there may be some duplication. I still welcome other submissions. If you have any to add E-mail to: Shearingly@aol.com BOOKS: "Anne of Green Gables - L.M. Montgomery. Anne tries to dye her red hair black, but it comes out green and has to be cut off. "The Firm" - John Grisham (Wife of Laywer disguising look near end) "Flashman at the Charge" by George MacDonald Fraser. Two, count 'em, two very different head-shaving/cutting scenes. A Russian maid gets her locks lopped clean off at a noblewoman's whim...another, a warrior princess of the Near East shaves her head in protest! "Flowers in the Attic" - Virginia Andrews. The heroine doesn't get her hair cut like in the film, but with a bit of imagination... "Forrest Gump" by Winston Groom. No kidding! Not in the movie of course, but in the novelette, Jenny gets a complete shave when she is arrested at an antiwar protest, thrown in jail and a couple of guards decide they're gonna learn these long-hairs a lesson! "Second Child" - John Saul. A mother gets pissed off with her daughter's plainness and chops her long hair off in an effort to make her prettier. Hmmm, faultless logic there, methinks! "To Die For" - Joyce Maynard. One of the perps' mother describes how her mother dealt with headlice. Not in the film, unfortunately. "White Lotus" - John Hersey "Women of Eden" - Marilyn Harris (a pretty blond young woman given haircut by ruffians hired to teacher her a lesson) The "GOR" series "Kajira of Gor" "Slave Girl of Gor" "Magicians of Gor" "Renegades of Gor" The COMMANDER AMANDA NIGHTINGALE series George Revelli MAYFLOWER Books "Resort to War" 583-12017-2 "Adores Her Captors" 583-11825-9 MOVIES: "The Accused" (1988) (Jodie cuts her own hair) "Adams Woman" Actress Jane Merrow had her hair clipped (off camera) for her role as a transported Australian convict. "Agnes of God" (1985). Much too brief convent haircut. "Aliens 3 -- Sigourney Weaver definitely takes it off for the film (not shown), clippered to the scalp "Aloha Means Goodbye" - Elizabeth Montgomery has a brain tumor and has an operation. The doctor shaves her head. They do not show the shave but you hear the clippers as he is shaving. "Anne of Green Gables" (1934, 1985) "The Ballad of Little Jo" Tale of a young woman in 1866 (played by Suzy Amis) who, disgraced by having a child out of wedlock, flees to the American West and quickly learns that the only way to survive on her own is to pretend that she's a man. She decides to cut her waist long hair and dress like a man. Wonderful scene of Suzy slicing off her beautiful red hair with a straight-edge razor. (1993) 120 min, Rated R, Color "Becoming Colette" (1992). This movie stars Mathilda May as Colette. She has knee length hair which is clipped off in a scene when it is braided. I do believe it was a wig. "Behind Convent Walls" (Italian movie, don't know Italian title, nun cutting her own hair - kinda punishment) "The Best" (1976? ) It's one of those European sex farce movies that air late at night, and it features a 'Three Stooges' style riot scene at the end of the movie in which an attractive young woman has her curly brown wig yanked off her hair to reveal a nearly bald head, apart from a few renegade strands of hair. "Beyond Erotica" - (1979) Andrea Rau agrees to cut off her waste length black hair with garden shears while under David Hemmings' dominant spell. The actual haircutting is shown only in the fuzzy background, as Hemmings delivers a dull and ponderous monolgue in the foreground. A terrible movie, but striking before and after. "Bernice Bobs Her Hair" (1976) (after the Scott Fitzgerald story - wig I guess) "Blue Sunshine" - 1976 Women take a drug (Blue Sunshine) which makes all their hair fall out and turns them into bald crazed killers. "Blush" (Chinese, headshaving as leading female becomes a Buddhist nun) "Botany Bay" 1953-Actress Helen Winston sacrificed her hair for a role in this film, but most of the footage was never included. John Farrow directed. "Brides of Christ" "Brides of Fu Manchu" woman suspended over a deep pit leading to water; her long hair is tied to two eye hooks behind her. The floor is removed and she hangs by her hair. After some tense moments, another woman cuts the right lock of hair loose and the gal hangs by one lock. Then the other lock is cut and she falls into the pit. "Bright Lights, Big City" (1988) Michael J. Fox I'm not 100% positive this is the movie, but the opening scean of the Michael J. Fox movie shows him talking with a barmaid. She is very attractive, especially with her totally bald head. (someone sent in: Visit http://146.176.129.17/ph/blbccred.html The bald girl's name is Marika Blossfeldt, - runnng her name though altavista turned up links to NYC dance, and listing as a yoga teacher. Perhaps I think that her - hairlessness was just for the movie in 88. This is funny because a girl I know from NYC told me about a friend of hers, - a dancer, who shaved her head just for a movie, might be the same person.) "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" (1973). Another version of St. Francis. Not much of the cutting is shown, but seeing the girl kneel in front of St. Francis, lean forward and throw her long hair forward so he can cut it off is quite exciting. Readily available at video stores. "Caged" (1950) Another classic scene in a gripping film. A female convict has her hair clipped off by a cruel matron. "The Crying Game" (1993?) A very unwanted haircut!! Only problem is,.......... it's not a female (and now I've taken away the surprise out of viewing the movie). "Deadbolt" - Justine Bateman's long hair is cut to chin length by the man who holds her captive "Dead of Winter" (1987) (Mary Steenburgen gets a haircut) "Deadly Pursuit" - Tom Berenger looks as if he's going to slice off Kirstie Alley's ponytail, but only cuts the scrunchy. Pity. "Deep in the Heart" (1983). Karen Young has her long ponytail cut off by a hairdresser. Available on video. "The Devils" (1971) (British) Ken Russell's allegorical tale of hysteria and horror in a medieval nunnery. Many young clipped actresses played nuns in various stages of undress. "The Doctor" - 1993, Elizabeth Perkins was a brain cancer patient (she wore a bald cap). (Someone sent me: She plays a cancer patient, and removes her scarf abou midway through the movie to reveal her baldness, which is simulated, contrary to what Bob Fitzgerald says. Perkins did NOT shave her head for the film (too bad).) "Drop Dead Fred" (1991) (Phoebe Cates gets several haircuts from Fred) "Earth Girls are Easy - (1989) Geena Davis gets a makeover. Not a brilliant scene. "Edward Scissorhands" (1990) (What else could Johnny Depp do in this one?) "Empire Records" - about 20 minutes into the film a young woman (Robin Tunney) cuts her hair with scissors and then clippers her head - good show "A Father's Revenge" - young woman's hair cut by terrorists "Five Branded Women" (1960, B&W). World War II collaborators are given crewcuts by partisans. There is one pretty good cutting scene. Not available on video. "Flowers in the Attic" (1987) (Kirsty Swanson gets a punishment cut, done by Louise Fletcher) "For Keeps" (1988) with Molly Ringwald "For Whom the Bell Tolls" "Frances - Jessica Lange (1982) - Story of Actress - near end of movie, re-enters mental hospital and has hair cut off short On video "Francis of Assisi" (1961). Good scene of a blond being shorn on entering the convent. Would be better if it weren't so easy to spot that it's a wig. "Funny Girl" - In this movie Barbara Streissand has long hair throughout. Toward the end of the movie, she suddenly has short hair. Nothing is said about this in the movie, but there is a sudden change. "A Girl From Mars" --Made-for-cable movie about this goofy teenage girl who talks to aliens. For some strange reason she shaves her head to become one of them (or something like that). It's a skullcap, but a good one. Eddie Albert has a small role in this film, which airs quite often on the Family Channel. Basically another kids flick. "The Girl In the Kremlin" (c. 1948) Definitive hair-cutting scene of girl forced to have her head shaved. Entire shaving is captured in scene. "Go Fish" (1994, B&W). A not very attractive lesbian goes from hippy look to crewcut. Only a few snips are shown, but a good scene. "The Golden Years, The Bitter Years" A German TV movie series about a German barber and his family from 1920 to 1939. Two women get their haircut on it. "The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle" (The creation of Sue Catwoman) "Handgun" - A young teacher has her long hair cut off after being raped. Excellent scene. "Her Life As A Man" (She cuts her hair over the sink) "Hiroshima Mon Amore" "The History of Punishment" (Japan) Shaved Buddhist nun is the main character. "Hotline" Lynda Carter has a hunk of hair cut off by this deranged guy. It's hard to see if her hair's really getting cut (night scene), but she holds the cut hair in her hands. "This House of Brede - Dianna Rigg is a nun who gets a haircut, some of which is shown." "House of Whipcord" - about girls imprisoned, they are only permitted three infractions, one punishment is a whipping, the final punishment is death by hanging (before which their hair is cut off). In one scene there is this Hispanic girl with long beautiful hair, who gets it cut real short by the matron. "H.O.T.S" (1979). Interesting premise. Good sorority vs. bad sorority. The leader of the bad sorority masquerades as the leader of the good sorority. At the same time, members of the bad sorority decide to kidnap the leader of the good sorority and shave her head. - You guessed it, they get the wrong person. The haircut scene has the victim bound and gaged and struggling. Unfortunately, the scene ends when they turn the clippers on (big disappointment). This film is in some video stores as "T&A Academy". "House of the Rising Sun" - (1987) Jamie Barrett, Woman reporter infiltrates a prostitution ring and boss has her hair styled against her wishes - not much cutting shown - too bad too cause a lot gets cut - on video "Interview with the Vampire" - Kirsten Dunst cuts off her mass of blonde curls, and is horrified to find they grew back. "Jane Eyre" (1944, B&W). Elizabeth Taylor has her Shirley Temple type curls cut off by a wicked school master. Available on video. "Joy in the Morning" (1965). Yvette Mimieux begins to cry as a barber takes the first few snips at her shoulder length hair. The description of the scene in the book by Betty Smith is better. Not available on video last time I checked. "Just One of the Guys" - 1985) Joyce Hyser (On Video - recent HBO) No cutting shown, girl goes short to disguise as boy "Kalifornia" (Miss Lewis wacky as ever) "The Key To Rebecca" - the movie scene is not as good as the book "King Solomon's Mines" (1937 & 1950 versions, easier in Africa) Long to short self-cut looks like a wig to me. Available on video. "The Last Ride" (1994) Lori Singer cuts her long blond hair very short and paint it brown. What a great scene! The rough-hewn romance of a rodeo star (Mickey Rourke) and an armed robber (Lori Singer). "Lawless John & Molly" Western in which Molly gets her long hair cut off by an old Indian woman with a knife. The cut is at the neck in front (Molly is tied to a pole) and it's really cut off...no doubt. "The Legend of Billie Jean" (1985). Speaking of disappointments, despite the fact that two main characters and dozens of extras are teenage girls who get crewcuts during the movie, only a couple snips are shown. The movie does show that some women (like Helen Slater) can be just as sexy with a crewcut as with long hair. Readily available at video stores. "The Legend of the Fall" - Julia Ormond cuts off her long hair (not much shown). "Love Lives On" (1989)--Made-for-TV movie starring Mary Stuart Masterson as a tomboyish cancer patient. It features a scene where her hair begins falling out, and later shows her fussing over having to wear a wig. I'm pretty sure it was a skullcap. Also stars Christine Lahti. "Macho Calahan" (1970) "Mark of the Devil, Part II" (1970) (British?) Ingeborg Schoener had her beautiful head shaved for her part as a nun in this senationalist witch-burning story. Michael Armstrong directed. "Married to the Mob" (1988) (Miss Pfeiffer ruins her wig) "Mommie Dearest" the haircut scene with little Christina when Mom finds she's stuck her blonde hair to her head with styling gel. "National Velvet" (1944). Mickey Rooney cuts off Elizabeth Taylor's shoulder length hair so she can pass as a boy. Good scene. "The Naked Kiss" To this day there are arguments as to whether Constance Towers actually lost her locks to play the ex-prostitute heroine in Samuel Fullers vision of a horribly corrupt social order. If it was simulated it is very effective. "The Night Porter" (1974) Concentration camp, no cutting shown "The Nun's Story" (1959). Very good scene of Audrey Hepburn's long brown braid getting cut off. Readily available at video stores. "O Henry's Full House" - This is a compilation of five different short stories by O Henry. The last story is "The Gift of the Magi" in which Jean Crain sells her hair in order to buy a Christmas gift for her husband. Several snips of the haircut of her very long hair is shown, but it looks like a wig. "Out of Africa" - Merril Streep gets a haircut more than halfway through the movie. The haircut is not shown "Parenthood" (1989) (even Keanu buzzes his hair, so did Martha) "Parent Trap" (1961) with Haley Mills has haircutting "The Passion of Joan of Arc" (1927 - French) Classic, silent film. Directed by Carl Dreyer. Actress Renee Falconetti, portraying the French holy woman, has her head shorn with scissors in a moving sequence. "Play Misty for Me" (1971) (Donna Mills hair is cut (not much of it) by a jealous woman) "Playing For Time" (1980) Directed by Linda Yellin. Vanessa Redgrave submits to a shearing on camera, as she and Melanie Mayron are snipped to the scalp on entering a Nazi concentration camp. Many other women were shaved for this moving, originally made for TV offering. (Early 1980's?) "Poison Ivy II" - Allissa Milano cuts her own hair from mid-back length to shoulder length "Pretty In Pink" - (1986) Molly Ringwald haircut "Rich Man Single Women" (extremely brief) "The Roaring Twenties" (1939) James Cagney movie with Haircut scene "Robo Cop" - There is a scene where these thugs have attacked this blonde. One of the thugs gets his knife and slices off a couple of chunks of her hair. Then Robo Cop comes to her rescue. "Roman Holiday" (1953, B&W). Audrey Hepburn gets a major beauty shop haircut from a reluctant Italian hairdresser. "Rosemary's Baby" - (1968) Mia Farrow, near the end of the movie gets her long hair cut off real short. Haircut is not shown, but it infuriates her husband. It inspired women from all over the world to get a "Mia Cut" at the time. "Ryan's Daughter" (1970) "Schindler's List" - contains female haircutting (Holocaust) "Secret of Blood Island" A lousy movie about a woman pilot who is shot down on a jap island. She joins the british POWs and gets a haircut to look like the guys. "Seizure-The Story of Cathy Morris" (1980 or '81)--Made-for-TV movie starring 'Star Trek's' Leonard Nimoy as the surgeon who cared for a young woman with epilepsy. She removes her bandages to see how she looks without her hair. Another skullcap, but a decent scene. "Serial" (1980). Angry hairdresser chops off a couple hunks of Tuesday Weld's shoulder length hair when it turns out that the guy she's bragging about dating is also his (the hairdresser's) lover. Haircut scene is OK but not great. Available on video. "Shattered Vows" (1984) (Valerie Bertelli becomes a nun !?) "She's In The Army Now" (1981) Another silly film that features female army recruits. The TV movie ignores the real army dress code, and the women are permitted to keep their long hair; but one recruit is continuously getting the platoon disciplined when her waist length her keeps falling down from it's bun. Three other recruitss take the matter into their own hands by holding her down on a bunk and chopping her long hair off. - The haircut is shown in the form of closeups of the - recruits doing the cutting and her hair fallen on the ground, but it's still an interesting scene. "Silence Like Glass" (1990) (Martha was already, Jamie cuts and fakes) "Sixteen Candles" - (1984) Not much of a scene really as a hunk of a girl's long hair has to be cut to free her head from a locked door (On Video) "Sleeping with the Enemy" - Julia Roberts saws about a foot off her wig. "Stay Tuned" Pam Dawber has a big hunk of her ponytail pulled out by a lady wrestler (fake hair, I'm sure). "Steel Magnolias" (Julia Roberts bit) "Sorrow and the Pity" "The Story of Irene and Vernon Castle" (1939) Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire movie. Haircutting scene "The Story of Joanna" A porn flik. A girl is slowly humiliated with a climax head shaving at the end. "Switch" - 1991 A slezzy womanizer is killed by his jilted ex-lovers and comes back to earth as a woman. Stars Ellen Barkin. The biggest problem he has as a woman (besides getting used to high heels) is getting used to all his new long hair. He finally goes into a barber shop and gets it cut. Good movie. "Sylvia Kristel's Beauty School" Sex farce film in which the villainess is exposed as a baldy at the end of the film. It's a skullcap, but a funny scene nonetheless. Airs on Cinemax all the time. "Sylvia Scarlett" Katherine Hepburn (I believe) cuts her long braids to pose as a boy (fake, I'm sure). "Temptation of a Monk" (Joan Chen gets to be a Buddhist Nun) "THX 1138" (1971) Director George Lukas' first feature project after film school was this vision of a future society where all persons have shaved noggins, irregardless of sex. Need we say more? An excellent film. "That Was Then, This Is Now" - 1985 Adapted from the novel by S. E. Hinton (The Outsiders/ Rumblefish) Stars Emilio Estevez & Craig Sheffer. After getting a girl to go with him he gets her very drunk until she passes out, then he cuts her hair for revenge. "Therese" (when two sisters join the third to become a nun) "Thoroughly Modern Millie" - At beginning of movie, Julie Andrews goes into a beauty shop with her long hair and emerges with a short cut. Also, she almost convinces Mary Tyler Moore to do the same, but her boyfriend convinces her otherwise. "The Triumph of the Spirit" (1990) Concentration camp women hair clipping scene "Tunnelvision" (1976) "Victim of Beauty" (You must look good to be a supermodel) "Victor/Victoria" (1982) (If it's Julia it must be fake, don't know about the original German movies) "The Vikings" This peasant girl with 3 braids has her head placed in the center of this huge wheel (looks like doughnut). The braids are nailed to the wheel left, right, and above her head...pulled tight. Then this Viking throws cleavers at her...testing her faithfulness (misses twice). Kirk Douglas steps up and throws 3 cleavers...first cutting the left braid, then the right one. After a moment, he cuts the upper one. "A War of Children" TV Movie. British actress Jenny Agutter is shorn on-camera, as punishment for her collaboration in Northern Ireland "WaterWorld -- You don't see the actual cutting, but Jeanne Tripplehorn and a young girl are given punishment cuts, they look so forlorn after. "Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken" (1991) (so you see the difference between the girl and the horse) "The Wild Side/Suburbia" (1983) (what do you expect from a punk movie) "Wild Women" (1970, made-for-TV). Settlers traveling in covered wagons cut off a woman's hair after she uses scarce water supplies to wash it. Available on video. "The Winds of War" (Series for TV but on Video) Concentration Camp Scene ( I think Tape #6 ???) similar to Playing for time but actress is Jane Seymour (I think) with long, long hair "The Witches" (1991)--More or less a kids film by the late Jim Henson of Muppets fame starring Anjelica Huston. There's a scene where all these witches are assembled and upon Anjelica's command, they remove their wigs to reveal bald heads, some beautiful, some grotesque. As far as I could tell, they were all skullcaps, and no one was actually shaved. Pretty phony-looking, but worth a look anyway. Aired on HBO quite often. "Women at West Point" This made-for-TV movie (circa 1980) stars Linda Purl as one of the first female cadets at West Point. The opening credits show her (and others) actually getting their hair cut. "Working Girl" (1988) (Melanie gets some serious hair) "The World, the Flesh and the Devil" (1959, B&W). Harry Belefonte gives blond Inger Stevens a bad haircut. Available on video but hard to find. SALOME (Italian) Director Carmelo Bene lensed Oscar Wilde's allegorical version of the biblical tale of Herod's step-daughter. Beautiful Donyale Luna had her scalp shaved for her role. Fellow then Top-model Verushka simulated the effect with a skin cap for her appearance. TURKISH DELIGHT (Holland) Paul Verhoeven directed this film which was nominated for a "best foreign language" Oscar. Moniwue Van Den Ven in the role of a young woman who has her head shorn in preparation for brain surgery. LA BONZESS (France) Sylvie Meyer plays a young prostitute who gives up the worldly life and leaves for India where her hair is sacrificed as she becomes a "female monk!" Ms. Meyer was actually filmed during a religious service, where the barber actually thought that she was a religious convert! HOLY MOUNTAIN Alexandro Jadorowski's visual tapestry of images, with head shaving and bald women appearing at various times throughout. This film is currently only available in the US as an expensive Japanese LaserDisc. BALD HEADED BETTY (Thailand) Actress Lam Kim Ming lost her hair for this role. ADULT FILMS AND VIDEOS DIRTY HEAD (German) Pure delight with lovely blonde losing her hair somewhat unwillingly while administering oral sex. The actual haircutting is short and fleeting. (I970's?) DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THESE? The following are movies that someone submitted but did not know the name. Maybe a description of the movie might tigger someone's memory of the title: There was a movie with Lyle Alzado where he stalks this women in a building and grabs a scissors and starts to cut her hair. He then begins to eat the hair that he cut, before the woman stabbs him and gets away. There as a movie with Jackie Gleason, I think that it was called something like "If It's Tuesday, It Must be Belgium". It is about him and his family in a foreign country being chased by the officials of that country. In order to escape, his daughter is disguised as a boy and gets her long hair cut short. They don't show the cut, but you do see the results. There is a movie that has played on USA TV three or four times about the first female firefighter in Los Angeles. Can't come up with the title, by Nancy K....? The lead actress has her hair cut in a barber shop. I don't know the title but it has the theme song "A girl like you", where a girl shaves her own head. There was a movie on TV with Tiffany-Amber Theissen in which she accuses a guy of rape and his friends surround her and give her a (mild) haircut. She acts traumatized, but not much was cut off. I don't remember the title, but there was a 4-part mystery anthology that had a movie in which a girl is killed and served up at a luau to her mother. After the girl is killed, this guy has to cut her up and put her in a suitcase. There's a scene in which he picks the girl up by her ponytail and swings the knife at the hair. The end of the scene has him packing up the wrapped body parts...and after he puts the last part in the suitcase, he lays the long ponytail on top. I also saw an old black & white western several years ago that had several crewcut ladies in it, I didn't get the name of it or the actors/actresses. It was probably a very radical thing to do for a movie back then. Mayby other newsgroup members might know the name of the movie??? TV episodes. Haircuts abound there, too... Spenser For Hire...an episode where this boxer is tied up and being questioned; the bad guys have this guy who gets off cutting girls' hair holding the boxer's girlfriend (who has stunning long red hair). The boxer must either answer a question correctly, or the guy will cut off a long lock of red hair. Two locks are actually cut. By the time the third cut comes, the guy's shot by Spenser. Police Story...an episode involving female gangs. These gang girls attack a Hispanic girl with hip-length hair in an alley and cut it all off; all we see is mega-long locks being thrown away from the girl and the aftermath. Renegade...an episode where these two guys grab a blond maid and question her; when she's reluctant to answer, one guy grabs her ponytail and says, "you look like you can use a trim." After she tells him what he wants to know, he cuts her ponytail with a knife. X-Files...Fetish ...this wierd guy cuts off dead women's hair and fingernails. He murders women to get their hair. Petticoat Junction...an episode about voting (men vs. women). A husband says to his wife if she doesn't vote with him, he'll cut her waist-length hair off. Well, she doesn't, but he does...she wakes up the next morning with her blue-ribboned ponytail laying in bed next to her. Numerous video and cartoon versions of Rapunzel...each with the hallmark haircut scene. Of course, the cut is always of a wig. There is one of Steven Speilberg's Amazing Story episodes where these two boys are really bad. In the beginning, a babysitter comes to watch them who has incredibily long pigtales. The boys snip them off and the babysitter goes running off. Charlie's Angels...2 episodes. One has dancers getting killed and being found with their hair cut off. Early in the show a girl gets knocked out and a gloved hand starts cutting off hunks of the blonde's hair. Another episode involves kidnapped cheerleaders, and one gal gets her blonde hair cut off with a knife on camera. One Step Beyond..."The Clown" Yvette Mimieux gets a big lock of hair cut off by her husband when a clown likes it and won't keep his hands off it. Bring 'Em Back Alive...Cindy Pickett gets her below waist hair cut off with a knife because a tribal leader likes it (looks like real cut). Happy Days...the old intro has a girl getting her long ponytail caught in the convertible top of a car. The tail is revealed to be a fake to her friends, but from a distance looks like a cut shot. Jeannie...the '70s cartoon has the lovely red hair wanting a new look to please her master, so she goes to the beauty shop with a picture. She tells the barber, "Now please don't cut my...(snip) ponytail!" She didn't tell him not to cut her hair, and she needs her hair to do magic. The rest of the cartoon has her and her genie friend trying to grow the hair back (it gets so long, it runs down the street by itself). The Munsters" (1965 or '66)--The episode in which Lily and Marilyn open a "beauty" shop, and thanks to Herman and Grandpa's electrical invention, they cause their two client's hair to fall out in a hilarious scene. Skullcaps again, but good ones. What can YOU add to this list? I will re-post the list as it grows. Be sure to give as much info as possible - book - name and author; movie - title and description, etc.
